When the thoughts just don't come out

There have been so many times where I just havent been able to write. It isn't really witters block, but an inability to get the ideas from my head to paper. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to attend a course by the great Gene Perret. Gene worked as a comedy writer and producer for over thirty years, and earned three Emmys for his work on the Carol Burnett Show. Gene was head writer for Bob Hope and Phyllis Diller, and has written over forty books.

The course I rook was based on one of his books "Write Your Book Now!" A proven system to start and finish the book you've always wanted to write. The combination of this book and Gene's wisdom has allowed me to actually take my book from my head and turn it into real chapters of my book.

I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Gene, and he has graciously agreed to write a guest article to be shared on my blog. His book is an essential book for any new writer.

Join me on my journey!

Anyone who seriously writes knows that a writer's life isn't all glitz and glamour. There is so much more to it than sitting down to write a brilliant masterpiece. Let's face it, sometimes writer's block is the least of our worries. We experience the normal everyday stresses that go along with any career, but somehow through it all, we still need to find our way back to our creative state of mind which isn't always an easy thing to accomplish.

With my blog my hopes are to share my trials and tribulations on my road to completing my novel, and to inspire others along the way. It would also be wonderful to hear from other writers on their journey to completing their manuscript. If we can all help one another by sharing our experiences, it will take us one step closer to the end which is basically what we are all striving for.
